The peach probably originated in China and is traditionally present in Sicilian orchards. Cultivation is on the other hand suited for areas with a mild temperate climate. The yellow peach has a juicy and perfumed flesh; the skin is velvety.
Characteristic of Sicilian fishing is the long production calendar, the harvest lasts until October.. Late production is that which makes the variety more prized. It is widely used; in addition to consumption fresh, also in culinary preparations. Nutritional characteristics: The peach contains some 35 calories per 100 grams and contains a reasonable quantity of vitamin C, as well as fibre, vitamin group B, potassium, carotenoids and sugars (~11°Bx). Territory or provenance: Vale of Simeto (Catania), Vale of Salso (Caltanisetta), Agrigento, Leonforte. Period of availability: From August to October. Dimensions: 80-200 gr.
