The di Ciaculli Late Mandarin originated and is grown in the agricultural park of Palermo and in sites of the district of Ciaculli-Croce Verde Giardino.
The ripening period is late, concentrated in the months of February, March and April which varies depending on variations of climate.
The fruit has a rind of medium thickness, some 0.3 cm, is smooth and has numerous oil glands.
The flesh is sweet, divided into segments which might total between some 8 and 13. The pips which might be encountered within the segments vary in number between some 4 and 12.
When completely ripe, the average weight of fruit is between 75 and 90 grams. The acidity of the fruit is between 0.5 and 1.2%; the total sugar content soluble solids (brix) is not less than 10%;, the ripening index between 11 and 18.
