The common mandarin or Avana is juicy and very sweet thanks to a greater presence of sucrose than in other citrus fruit. The rind is thin and smooth, perfumed and rarely attached to the flesh. The fruit is therefore easy to peel.
The fruit presents as a slightly flattened and globular shape. The flesh can contain some pips. It is made up of segments which are easily separated from each other and the colour is an intense orange.
