Blood Orange Sanguinello



Product description

The Sanguinello variety is of medium calibre and the shape is oblong. Its rind is orange in colour with possible hints of intense red.

The flesh, almost always without pips, is orange in colour with numerous sanguine speckling, very juicy and with a decided flavour.
Blood oranges are well known and appreciated for their vitamin C content and of anthocyanin, but these super-fruit also contain many other beneficial substances; a full 441 composites. Amongst these there are 14 different vitamins and 67 mineral salts, amino acids, enzymes, carbohydrates, carotenoids, flavonoids and many other nutritional substances. The white part of the rind or albedo, contains a high percentage of fibre. This part is not discarded. It is very valuable and can be eaten.
