The Moro variety is the first which colours amongst the blood oranges.
The fruit is of medium calibre and presents with a spherical shape tending towards the ovoid. Its rind is orange with hints of wine-red; the flesh, without pips, is entirely dark red, especially on ripening.
The colour of the juice is sanguine due to the presence of a consistent amount of anthocyanins. The juice content is very high and the flavour very pleasant and slightly acidulous.
